Collage for All with Megan Woodard Johnson - August 18, 10:00-1:00
Working with various materials from Megan’s stash of vintage papers, you'll create a variety of pieces as you learn to work with basic collage tools and techniques. Instruction will include composition tricks and guidance in creating abstract and narrative collages. This class is also always about quieting the pesky voice of your inner critic, opening your eyes to beautiful details hiding within the big picture, and building friendships and trust through collaboration.
This is a 3 hour workshop, with all materials provided. We start with group instruction, try some prompted and collaborative work to get you loosened up and comfortable with the techniques, and then enjoy a long stretch of 'open studio' style time to create, create, create! You are welcome to bring any special materials or mementos of your own that you'd like to work into your collages. We’ll send you home with one quality white mat so you can pop a finished piece into a frame! Bringing a beverage and a snack is always encouraged.
